Almost 40 years ago, I discovered the protective value of the flinch — the body's built-in reflex to protect itself from impact. That became our thesis: What does your body want to do prior to any training? Does that have a protective or tactical application? If so, why aren't we using it?
Those questions have opened minds and helped people save their own lives for decades. My team and I are obsessed with making good humans safer.
The startle-flinch is standard equipment. You were born with it. We'll teach you how to convert the flinch into what we call a biological airbag, and how fear can become fuel.
